Our guests tell us they go home different people than they were when they arrived – in all the right ways. Spend 8 hours a day with your expert saltwater guide – then take a skiff out into the bay to get that halibut or elusive yelloweye. At Pybus Bay you don't have to choose fishing or sightseeing – our summer trips are packed with whale encounters, often while we reel in the day's biggest catch.

Pybus Point Lodge sits at a major crossroads for all five species of spawning salmon as they feed and travel to their traditional spawning grounds in the waters of Frederick Sound, Stephen's Passage and Chatham Straits, giving our guests access to some of the best fishing in Southeast Alaska.
When you're not with your experienced guide, feel free to take one of our fleet of 18' Smokercraft skiffs to explore Pybus Bay's thriving fishery. Halibut, salmon, rockfish, shrimp, and crab are all plentiful – and our attentive dockhands will fillet, vacuum seal, flash-freeze, and box everything you catch so you can take it home.
Experience Alaska with an experienced guide to get you up close.
There is no better way to experience Alaska than from our comfortable touring boats as we travel north to explore the famous Tracy Arm fjord and its icebergs and glaciers. Along the way we always see plenty of humpback whales, sea lions, seals, and orcas in the cold, clear waters of Alaska's Inside Passage.
Our experienced guides will be able to show you hidden waterfalls and natural beauty that will leave you speechless, including a 600-foot waterfall on Baranof Island that rivals anything we've seen around the world. And closer to the lodge, on an island native Tlingit people named Xootsnoowú, or "Fortress of the Bears," you'll be able to spot brown bears and bald eagles who live nearby.
And, of course, your guide knows the best fishing holes along the route – if you're feeling the itch to fish, we can customize your day to include a little (or a lot) of everything.
Experience Alaska the Pybus Bay Way
We're lucky to have the best view in Southeast Alaska. Your first glimpse of Pybus Point Lodge comes as your float plane drops between two islands to land at our private dock, nestled in a beautiful cove beneath Bear Pass Mountain.
We may be several hours from the nearest traffic sign, but our rooms are every bit as welcoming as a comfortable, modern home. Built for the 2019 season, each room has its own thermostat-controlled fireplace, private bathroom, and daily maid service from our attentive crew.
No matter which cabin you're in, you'll be mere meters from the sea at high tide, with the scent of old-growth Sitka spruce trees drifting on the cool Alaskan sea breeze.
Gourmet meals are served in our log lodge at the center of the property, overlooking our private dock, where you'll find a hot tub and sauna and gather to relive the excitement of each day with friends and crew members.
