Vance first visited Pybus Point as a guest in 2016.  He has always loved outdoorsy activities, including camping, IronMan events, and more. Now a member of the Pybus team, he enjoys sharing with others the things he appreciates so much about Alaska!

Darryl grew up fishing on lakes and rivers in Utah with his dad, and he loves the outdoors. Having spent most of his career in mining and minerals, he was delighted to join the Pybus team to spend more time in nature. When not playing in Alaska he can usually be found with his family and friends in Utah, skiing, mountain biking and/or canyoneering around Zion National Park.

Anna Barrett is a bright and friendly presence around the lodge, always ready to lend a hand and make guests feel right at home. Whether she’s helping prepare a warm meal or tidying up after a long day of fishing, Anna takes pride in making every guest’s stay smooth and enjoyable. Her calm, upbeat attitude and strong work ethic make her a valued part of the Pybus family.

Brie Poirier has always lived in ski towns, from Colorado to Canada, and Utah, these locations cultivated her love for the mountains and outdoors at a young age. In her free time, you can find Brie skiing fluffy pow or mountain biking in her backyard playground, Utah’s Wasatch Range. Brie received her Bachelor of Science in Environmental and Sustainability Studies and Parks, Recreation, and Tourism in 2019, she spent time as an outdoor educator in California before jumping on the opportunity to explore the rugged, wild Alaskan wilderness. With her wealth of experience, she's an invaluable member of the Pybus Team, guiding naturalist kayak tours, hikes, and other activities to ensure your Pybus Alaskan adventure is unforgettable.

Meet Abbie Kellett, our experienced floatplane pilot, adeptly navigating the skies with thousands of flight hours and over a decade of flying, covering diverse locales from New York to the Bahamas. Abbie's love for the water extends to the magic of gliding above it. Alongside her strong work ethic, infectious humor, and a quirky crochet hobby, she adds a touch of delight to the Last Frontier, ensuring the Pybus team's season is filled with high-flying moments and heartfelt laughter.

Jared brings over 20 years of experience in the food and hospitality world, and it shows in every plate he serves. Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he’s cooked all over but finds something special about feeding people in a place like Pybus. For Jared, the best part is seeing a guest’s reaction when they take that first bite. With a passion for international flavors and a love for bringing people together around a meal, Jared makes sure the food is just as memorable as the views.

Captain Alex has been saltwater fishing throughout Florida since 1978, and has been here at Pybus since 2013. He is hard working, and if the fish aren't biting then he'll find some that will!

Captain Mike lives in Daytona Beach, FL where he has worked as a charter boat captain and marine mechanic since 1993. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting and spending time on the pontoon boat with his wife and daughter.

Captain Casey is a wild and whimsical Alaskan native who was born and raised on Admiralty Island. With a heart as deep as the ocean and a love for all things fishing and wildlife, Casey fearlessly traverses the Alaska rugged landscapes, uncovering hidden fishing spots and secret hideaways where even the fish wear camouflage. Not only can he fillet halibut faster than a sneezing salmon, but he also finds time to paint pictures of the aurora borealis, creating magical masterpieces that are more elusive than a Sasquatch sighting.

Capt. Jeff's journey began in the heart of South Georgia/North Florida, where his fervor for fishing ignited. Post high school, he ventured to South Florida, embarking on a lengthy career in the telecommunications industry. However, the call of the fishing world never waned. Eventually, his love for the sea and angling took precedence, leading him to become a full-time fishing guide in both Florida and Alaska, amassing over a decade of invaluable fishing experience. Captain Jeff has been a valued member of the Pybus team, ensuring each fishing adventure is truly unforgettable.

Meet Captain Doug, a seasoned mariner from Erie, Pennsylvania, who's at home on Lake Erie and in Pennsylvania's mountains. When not at Pybus Point Lodge, he's exploring the Allegheny National Forest, hunting, fishing, hiking, and foraging. His heart belongs to Lake Erie and its tributaries, where he casts his line to reel in aquatic wonders. Captain Doug embodies the adventurous spirit of Pybus Point Lodge, with expertise both on land and water.

Meet Captain Matt, a true angler hailing from Portland, Oregon, who's been hooked on fishing since day one. Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, his passion for fishing runs deep. Matt's love for outdoor adventures extends beyond fishing to skiing and traveling. With his expertise as a captain, he's your go-to guide for memorable fishing experiences.

Meet Tarah Sabbatino, a proud native of Eastern Long Island, who joined the Pybus Point Lodge team after initially experiencing it as a guest. With fishing embedded in her family's history for three generations, it's safe to say fishing runs in her veins, and she wears that heritage with pride. Tarah's love for the outdoors goes beyond fishing; she's an avid wildlife enthusiast, always on the lookout for fascinating creatures. When she's not casting her line, you can find her enjoying quality time with her adorable little niece and her trusty Newfie companion.

Ty Wyatt  grew up in Oregon and went to college in Montana. He has spent 28 summers in Alaska splitting his time between working in Fisheries Research and being a Sport Fishing Guide/ Saltwater Charter Captain all over the state.

Meet Wade Shaw, a seasoned captain and proud island native who grew up alongside his brother Casey Shaw. With a lifelong connection to the sea, Wade’s career began as a commercial fisherman, giving him invaluable experience and a deep understanding of Alaskan waters. As a captain, he loves helping people reel in unforgettable catches. Wade’s expertise and passion for fishing ensure that every guest has an incredible experience on the water, whether it's a casual outing or a serious fishing adventure.

Meet Titus, hailing from the charming town of Salem, Utah. Titus is a fitness enthusiast who loves working out, mountain biking, and playing golf. His passion for staying active and enjoying the great outdoors perfectly aligns with the adventurous spirit of Pybus Point Lodge. Meet Carson Walker, a proud Utah native with a lifelong passion for fishing and hunting. Fluent in Spanish, Carson's love for the outdoors knows no bounds. Dreaming of Alaska since childhood, he's thrilled to embark on a new chapter and pursue his career amidst the stunning wilderness.

Meet Brighton, a dedicated outdoors enthusiast from Saratoga Springs, Utah. His passion for the great outdoors runs deep, with a love for fishing, hunting, dirt biking, skiing, and the exhilaration of cruising on his Harley. Brighton's connection to nature is unmistakable, and he brings his adventurous spirit to the Pybus Point Lodge team with enthusiasm and expertise.

Meet Josh, a recent high school graduate and a new member of the Pybus team. Josh has a natural talent for creativity, often building unique inventions with scraps he finds around the house—no piece of spare plywood is safe from his ideas. He loves trying new things, making people laugh, and seeking out adventure. With a background in running a successful landscaping business and light carpentry, Josh brings a hands-on approach to everything he does. When he's not working, you'll find him playing soccer, snowboarding, building with Legos, or enjoying a day of fishing.

Kade grew up in Tooele, Utah, where spending time outdoors was just part of life. He brings that same energy to the dock team at Pybus, helping guests get out on the water and into the wild. Whether it’s launching a boat or loading up gear, Kade keeps things moving with a calm attitude and a love for the job.

Melanie Barrett comes to us from the beautiful city of Salem, Utah. She’s a key part of the housekeeping and dining team, always ready to jump in and help wherever it’s needed. In her downtime, Mel makes the most of Alaska, whether she’s paddling out in a kayak or heading off on a hike through the wilderness. She loves the incredible wildlife, the stunning scenery, and most of all, the sense of friendship and adventure that comes from being part of the Pybus crew.

Meet Lane, originally from the picturesque winter wonderland of Winter Park, Colorado, nestled in the Rocky Mountains. Currently, Lane is pursuing a degree in Corporate Sustainability at Cal Poly SLO, located on the stunning Central Coast of California. With a heart that thrives in the great outdoors, Lane is an avid skier and adventure enthusiast who's always seeking the next mountain to conquer. When not exploring the world's natural beauty, Lane enjoys the simple pleasures of life – good company, good music, and the timeless joy of travel. Her passion for creating magical guest experiences at Pybus Point Lodge makes her an invaluable part of our team, ensuring every stay is nothing short of enchanting.

Corbin is from Heber City, Utah, and brings a steady, hard-working presence to the house and dining crew. He’s always ready to lend a hand, whether it’s helping with meals or making sure cabins are spotless for the next guests. Corbin loves the mix of quiet mornings, fresh air, and the chance to be part of something bigger than himself. When he’s off the clock, he’s likely soaking in the scenery or swapping stories with friends.

Cole is from Heber City, Utah, and first came to Pybus through his dad, Darryl, who’s also part of the team. Cole helps keep things running behind the scenes, from dining setup to keeping cabins clean. He’s a deep thinker with a love for aviation and philosophy, and he finds a lot of peace just taking in the fresh air and stillness of Alaska.

McKail brings a calm, dependable energy to the house and dining team. She’s the kind of person who quietly makes everything run smoother—whether she’s prepping a room or helping with meals. She enjoys the beauty of the island and the way life here moves at its own pace.

Tommy is from Salem, Utah, and brings steady energy and a great attitude to the house and dining crew. He’s dependable, detail-oriented, and always down to keep things moving behind the scenes. Whether he’s tackling dishes or helping the team stay on top of the day, Tommy’s always someone you can count on!
