One great example: The storage of fishing tackle, which includes equipment like rods, lines, bait and many other potential items.
At Pybus Point Lodge, we're here to help with all your equipment and storage needs for any of our all-inclusive fishing vacations. We're also happy to coordinate with longtime anglers who want to bring some or all of their own equipment with them for their trip, including tackle and tackle storage items. If you're just in the process of increasing your tackle equipment setup, here are a few simple methods anglers often use to keep their tackle items stored safely and securely between uses.
For those looking for the very best waterproof storage for items like baits and lures, plastic utility boxes work well, and you can even get them with a clear lid to more easily identify their contents. Nowadays, these are available in a wide range of shapes and sizes, including options for specific types of fishing like bass or surf fishing. For smaller items, including tools and lures, tackle boxes will work more effectively.
In addition, for items like hooks and other sharp objects that can potentially damage whatever's around them if they're jostled or placed into a box without some extra room, plastic tackle boxes come with dividers to give these pieces their own spaces within the larger storage case.
For softer bait items like worms, it's ideal to keep them in the original packaging while avoiding the need to punch holes in the side of this packaging. Pybus Point Lodge is located on the remote and secluded far south edge of Admiralty Island National Monument. Coverage is always tricky in deep valleys and remote natural areas. We found that AT&T has the most reliable cellular service at the lodge while T-mobile, Sprint, and Verizon can be picked up while out on the ocean. We do have a lodge phone you can use if necessary.
If you can't get a signal, we do provide free high-speed WIFI to the lodge and cabins. A popular option is to utilize your phones WIFI calling mode to communicate and take calls while at the cabin, although we prefer to unplug and enjoy all that the island has to offer.
The calm, cool waters of Alaska’s Inside Passage are the perfect habitat for humpback whales. Our guests tell us close encounters with these peaceful giants have changed the way they see the world – and we know just what they mean.
You’ll stay with us on Admiralty Island, called Xootsnoowú by native Tlingit people, which means “Fortress of the Bears.” There are more bears on our island than in all 49 other states combined – and more than 2.5x the number of people here!
