Your Pybus vacation includes an experienced US Coast Guard certified guide at the helm of a comfortable, customized fishing boat to keep you catching your dream Alaskan fish all day. You know what it’s like to put in an 8-hour shift at work. Isn’t it about time you spent 8 hours a day fishing the calm Alaskan waters at Pybus Bay?
A real Alaskan experience takes you away from crowds and into nature so beautiful it will give you chills. Our boats are designed for our guides to see to your group of 4 – 6 – no cruise-ship crowds competing for fish or chasing away whales. In fact, you’ll see more whales than people while you’re at Pybus Point Lodge.
When you’ve caught your limit or need a break from the reel, your guide can help you discover hidden waterfalls, glaciers, and other Alaskan wonders. We go out of our way to cater our experience to your group!
Pybus Point Lodge is located at the southern edge of Admiralty Island National Monument – a stunning landscape of cold, mirror-smooth water, thick Alaskan rainforest, cliffs, waterfalls, and islands within Southeast Alaska’s famous Inside Passage.
Your trip will begin in Juneau, Alaska, where you will board our charter sea plane for a once-in-a-lifetime view of Alaskan glaciers and Admiralty Island from above. (No worries, it’s all included in your trip!) After a scenic 45 minutes, your pilot will dip his wings between two islands and touch down at our private dock in Pybus Bay – surely the most beautiful landing you will ever experience.
We are the only lodge operating for hours, which means we have practically undisturbed access to some of the best fishing in the calmest waters in Alaska. You’ll see the occasional billionaire in a yacht coming to spend sunset enjoying the same view we have every day, but the only traffic around is brown bears waiting for the perfect salmon to make their day complete.
Pybus Point Lodge has always had the best view in Alaska, nestled in Pybus Bay beneath Bear Pass Mountain – a scene so striking you can imagine it on a magazine cover. Beginning in 2019, you can enjoy our perfect Alaskan location from brand new, comfortable cabins with private bathrooms, balconies, and a thermostat-controlled fireplace in each room.
Spend your evenings reliving the day’s adventures with friends in the common areas, with a billiard table, comfortable couches, and large TV and movie library. New cabins even have access to a kitchen – most often used to keep drinks cold, since our world-class chef stands ready to provide every meal and snack at the lodge.
You don’t even need a guide to experience some of the best parts of Alaska. Take kayaks to explore the islands in our protected bay, where you can watch bald eagles above and seals, jellyfish, sea otters, and whales in the clear water below.
And here’s something our guides hate to admit: Some of our record-breaking halibut have been caught by our guests exploring the bay on their own in one of our lightweight jet-powered skiffs. Take one out to fish, make your way to freshwater salmon fishing, or try to spot bears and other Alaskan wildlife on shore – it’s all included in your Pybus vacation.
Our executive chef developed his art for years running restaurants in 5-star resorts before partnering with us to create the perfect Alaskan menu: Brilliantly conceived dishes so fresh and delicious you’ll look forward to every meal.
And every meal is included in your trip, so you can leave the details to our staff and enjoy every extra minute fishing and exploring Pybus Bay.
Discover why people like you can’t stop talking about Pybus Point Lodge. More than 30 years ago, the lodge opened as a simple fishing camp, drawing a devoted following in spite of basic accommodations. With new owners and experienced captains and crew, our corner of Alaska has become an unbeatable fishing and eco-tourism resort.
