Factors Impacting the Cost of an Alaskan Fishing Trip

Pybus Point Lodge Logo

Like any other major vacation you're considering taking, the total cost of all the elements involved is a valuable consideration when looking into an Alaskan fishing trip. From flights to the destination to various areas you may be participating in and the prices associated with them, it pays to do your research in advance so you'll know what to expect.

At Pybus Point Lodge, we're here to make this easy for all our clients. Our all-inclusive Alaskan family vacation packages include literally everything you could need while on your trip, from transportation and accommodations to quality gear, guided fishing tours and much more. And while our packages cover everything for you, you have a number of options to choose between as you're building yours -- options that will naturally impact your final price. Here's a primer on the most important elements that combine to bring you an eventual cost for your Alaskan fishing or wildlife trip.

Stay Length and Other Basics

Naturally, basic elements like how many nights you'll be staying in our lodge and what time of year you'll be coming will have the most immediate impact on price. Our all-inclusive packages allow for varying lengths of stay, from just a couple days days to a week-long adventure or even further. The longer you stay, the more value you'll enjoy and the lower your per-night rate will be.

Another basic consideration that impacts cost is transportation. Our lodge is located in the heart of Alaska's expansive wilderness, and we're proud to offer a chartered seaplane from Juneau that brings our guests right to us. On top of this, you'll obviously want to consider the cost of getting to Juneau from wherever you may be coming from. Just keep in mind that flights to Juneau aren't cheap, and the more time you spend in our lodge, the lower your transportation cost will be per day.

Perks and Amenities

There are a number of amenities available to all our guests at Pybus Point Lodge during their stay with us that certainly impact the cost. Our heated main lodge and adjacent cabins provide a warm, comfortable place to relax after a day on the water or in the forest. A delicious home-cooked meal is waiting for you each evening, as well as access to our full bar and other amenities.

In addition, we have a wide range of activities available right here on our property that are included in our packages at no extra charge. You can fish, hike or just relax on the water's edge right beside our lodge--or, get out of the wilderness and play a round of golf with your family at one of several local courses just minutes away. Having all these options made available to you is what makes us so unique.

However, there's no rule stating you simply have to utilize every single amenity we have on offer. If you're someone who prefers to do their own thing and just wants a basic package with comfortable lodging and great fishing, that's absolutely an option. Conversely, if you want the full works including all the activities we provide, that's entirely possible as well. It's all up to you, and you can tweak several areas here to alter your costs if needed.

Specific Lodge Accommodations

There are also a variety of room types within our lodge, from single occupancy all the way up to quadruple occupancy. Obviously, the more people in your party, the lower the per-person rate will be. If you have a large group and want to save as much money as possible, this is definitely an area you'll want to look into.

You may also look for a suite or other additional room options with extra amenities. We have a sauna, massage room and hot tub on site for our guests to use, and there are a number of other great features as well. If you want more space or some added luxury while on your Alaskan fishing trip, simply let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate.

Meals

Once again, meals are just one of several items included as part of our all-inclusive family packages at Pybus Point Lodge. However, some people or families may prefer at least one night eating out at a separate restaurant instead.

If this is the case, you'll have to budget for that on your own. The cost of eating at a restaurant in Alaskacan vary greatly, so it's important to have an idea of what you're comfortable spending. We can certainly provide some recommendations if you need them.

Choice of Activities

Finally, the activities you choose to take part in, or not to take part in, will play a major role in your final cost. In addition to our guided fishing tours and saltwater fishing programs, we also offer programs like whale watching, wildlife tours, kayaking, day trips to various landmarks, and much more.

The beauty of our program is the way we allow you to mix and match between activities. If you just want to fish during your stay, that's absolutely an option. Or, if you're only interested in spending one day out on the water and doing something else the rest of the time, we can make that happen as well. There are no restrictions or limitations placed on our guests--we'll do everything within reason to ensure you get what you want. Naturally, the more activities you take part in, the higher your average cost will likely be.
