The magic of Pybus Point
“The magic of Pybus Point starts the moment you begin your journey and doesn’t fade even after you’re back home. This place is the perfect blend of awe-inspiring Alaskan beauty and pure relaxation. The team at Pybus welcomed us warmly, and every view felt like a postcard come to life. For our group, it was a chance to step away from the daily of life, soak in the wilderness, unplug, reset and return feeling recharged and inspired. If you’re after a spot that combines adventure with a real sense of calm, Pybus Point is it. Huge thanks to all the amazing folks there for an unforgettable, uplifting experience!”

Pristine Pybus
Wow! I can't quite put this experience into words. The staff and ownership are all amazing. From the moment you arrive until the second you leave Pybus has all your wants and desires covered. The worst part is the fishing is so good, you hate to do the excursions, which are spectacular. You just wish you had more time to do everything. But even the excursions provide enough time to get your limit of fish. We went as a couple and shared a cabin with 6 guys who fished hard, no issues, wonderful cabinmates. Don't let a shared cabin worry you. They provide everything you could need. You should pack light and know that everything you need is provided. Our Captain and guide Matt was amazing. As well as Brie the activities coordinator.

Third trip to Pybus
Pybus is a special place. This is my 3rd time here and already planning next year. The things I love most are ; the people are amazing. It is family owned and operated and it shows. Everything is first class, from the lodging, the meals and the boats and captains. Absolutely top notch! Fishing is some of the best in the world and they process and freeze then package your fish in an insulated box for travel home. Just check it with your luggage. I had a layover in Seattle when I left, traveled the next day back to the east coast and finally put the fish in my freezer late that day and all of it was frozen solid! so don't worry if it takes a couple days to get home. Remember; price and value go hand in hand!

A life-changing adventure!
What an amazing adventure! To start with, every member of the staff was just so genuine and pleasant and knowledgeable and helpful. I mean that truly. That is so rare, especially nowadays. And I can’t say about the beauty of Pybus Bay and its surroundings. It’s literally take-your-breath-away. We had an amazing time on all the excursions, including lots of deep sea fishing, seeing the glacier up close, watching humpback whales and orcas and seal lions and seals, hiking, flyfishing, and more. The food was great! Very tasty, unique, but not too unique, if you know what I mean. And lots of it! The accommodations were superb. I don’t know if I’ve ever stayed anywhere with a better shower! You wouldn’t think they would have really hot water and great water pressure at so remote a location, but they did. And I mention that, not just because I like my showers, but because it was emblematic of the attention to detail in every aspect of the experience. In can’t recommend Pybus Point Lodge enough!

Exceeded my already high expectations!
I have been trying how to put this life-changing experience into only one or two paragraphs. Hopefully everyone reading this stays engaged because it went on longer than I expected. Every single member of the staff from the kitchen to the owner were friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and willing to go way above and beyond to give you a first class experience. The cliché of being treated like family hits home here. We felt like more than just a guest. We felt like we have known these people all our lives. There are not enough adjectives to describe the awesome fishing. Every day was a world class fishing expedition. Our captain Ryan, and the best deckhand I have ever seen, Brighton, were there specifically for us. More than friendly and helpful. They were truly concerned that everything we did exceeded our expectations and they did. Ryan and Brighton knew so much about the surrounding nature and animals and glaciers that the trip wasn’t just fishing. It was like boating through an Alaska museum with a tour guide. Every night we had a chef prepared dinner. There was a specialty every day, which included the fresh fish catch of the day and amazing appetizers. They had substitution for vegan, people with allergies, special dietary needs as if we were in a five star hotel. We walked up to the dining area at 5:30 AM to grab coffee and the head chef came out with a smile asked us how we like dinner talk to us about how he makes his recipes and how the food gets to the island. It’s unbelievable. The staff that took our orders and brought us our food were constantly smiling and laughing and getting to know us. After only four days, they knew our names by heart where we were from what foods we like the way it was prepared. Again like family. Although the weather did not allow us to experience some of the adventures, it absolutely did not take away from the fun at the lodge. There was always something to do. Make sure you do the glacier trip. Amazing. It’s not the glacier, although that’s amazing, it’s the journey to it. Some of the most beautiful sites in the world. A special thanks too Bri (spelling?) the event coordinator who deserves five stars. Every night every day she was there to plan out what we wanted to do. Always friendly, always smiling, a true pleasure!! Thank you! The room was a perfect mix of log cabin and modern amenities. Instant hot water in the shower and great pressure. Beds were extremely comfortable and the rooms were so quiet. We had to open a window. Have we known better about the washer and dryer on premises, we would’ve packed 1/4 as many clothes. Shout out to Daryl who runs the lodge. Probably the busiest guy there, but would stop whatever he was doing to shake your hand give you a hug. Answer any questions and talk a little bit about the history of the area. If you are reading this and thinking about visiting Alaska for a fishing trip, it is impossible to find a resort better than this. We are flying home with so much fish. I’m not sure how we’re going to give it away and eat it all. But I’m sure I’ll figure it out ;-) Thanks you to everyone at the lodge. We will be back!

Best Lodge I've Been To
I have been going to Alaska for 17 years and have stayed at various lodges, this is the best lodge I have visited. The staff was fantastic, very comfortable accommodations, and the food was great. This isn't just a fishing lodge, its an experience. Activities available are fishing, whale watching, hiking, hot springs, kayak tours, or a visit to the fjords and glaciers. If you are looking for a place the entire family can enjoy, this is it.
