Even though we call this a "Photography Tour" it is meant for anyone who wants to capture Alaska on camera. Most digital SLR's have video functions built-in and filming Alaska is just as easy as photographing Alaska. Your guide also has decades of video experience and will make sure our video friends are very well taken care of. If you are planning to bring a larger cinema camera or need a more advanced rig, please reach out to us and we will work with you on your gear and prepping for your trip!!

The fishing in Southeast Alaska is world-class! We will have multiple opportunities to fish for those that want to participate. There also will be private jet skiffs avaiable each night that you can reserve to take out and fish on your own.
If you would like to fish daily, then we recommend booking your trip outside of the photography tour to give you the most fishing opportunity!
You will beresponsible for your airfare and hotel arrangements in Juneau before and after your trip. Local hotels are subject to change based on weather, local conditions, and availability.
Charter float plane transportation is included; additional fly-out tours and day trips on our float plane are available for an additional fee
You are also responsibly for your fishing license, alcohol, and any gratuities for your guide and crew.
We love drones at the lodge as they are a great way to see a birds eye view of the island! When used responsibly, they can be a great experience and allow you to beautiful inaccessible areas.
We ask that you follow all federal aviation guidelines while flying as well as never flying drones near other guests. Please be courteous and launch and land your drone away from structures, cabins, and people. Our air spaces is heavily used by seaplanes. Never fly near aircraft or boats while in operation.
We do not tolerate harassing local wildlife. This includes coming within 30 feet of animals or chasing them. Many of our the local wildlife are protected species and harassing them can come with hefty fines, and potential prision time. Pybus Point Loss is not responsible for drone related accidents, or lost drones.
Launching drones from our boats is incredibly risky should only be done by experience pilots and with explicit permission by your captain. Never launch a drone within 6 feet of other guests and be aware that your drone's return to home function and battery life estimation are not accurate while moving on water. Calm water also can make your your aircraft's downward facing sensors inaccurate and a large majority of our guests drones end up on the ocean bottom instead of the boat.
Our all-inclusive trip means that from the time you are greeted as you board our charter float plane in juneau to the time we say farewell and unload your boxes of filleted fish, we have it all covered. Click here to learn more about what is included in our trips!
A workshop is generally used to teach you new techniques in a studio or teach you post-production and business skills. ... A photo tour is designed to maximize the photographic opportunities with instruction along the way. Alaska is blessed with long summer days and we intend to take full advantage of all that sunlight on our photography tour! Rather than being coped up in a cabin teaching the in's and out's of camera's, we would rather you be out in the wild experiencing raging waterfalls, intimate wildlife experiences, and possibly experiencing the northern lights for your first time.
While the majority of our guests often see bears, we can never guarantee that bears will be spotted. Weather, natural phenomenon, and wildlife are dependent on conditions outside of our control. Our guides will safely do everything possible to find and allow you to document these magnificent creatures. With us partnering up with Pack Creek Bear tours and with being on a island with one of the highest concentrations of brown bears in the world, we are in a fantastic position to give our guests viewing opportunities.
