Since we’re in such a remote location, we know that we’re your only option when it comes to food, and that’s a responsibility that we take seriously. Incredible Staff

Being located in such a remote area of Alaska provides excellent fishing conditions, sightseeing, and wildlife spotting, but it can be a real challenge when it comes to preparing gourmet meals. Thankfully, we have an incredible staff of hard working men and women who come together every day to make sure that everyone at the lodge can enjoy an exceptional dining experience.

Our expert pilot personally flies to and from Juneau multiple times per week (sometimes even multiple times per day) to pick up all of the ingredients that the culinary team needs to create their spectacular dishes. Why does he have to fly into town so often? Unlike other lodges, we want to ensure that our guests always dine on meals made from the freshest possible ingredients. We promise our guests a luxury experience, and we do everything possible to live up to our guests' high expectations.

Once the ingredients arrive at the lodge, our culinary staff work their magic. For the entire duration of your stay, our small team of passionate chefs work to create three incredible meals for you every day. If you’ve ever had the pleasure of dining with us before, you know that our culinary team takes their craft seriously and always strives to serve you something special.

Breakfast

Before heading out for the day’s adventure you can stop in at the main lodge for a full breakfast buffet. Each and every morning you can enjoy pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, yogurt, pastries, granola, cereal, and a wide selection of juices, coffee, and teas free of charge. We’ll even give you a free, insulated bottle that you can fill with coffee to keep you going all day long.

Breakfast is designed to be as low stress and hassle free as possible, giving you as much time as you’d like to prepare for the day. If you want to quickly chow down and get on the boat as fast as you can, be our guest! If you’d rather get some extra sleep and have a leisurely breakfast while planning the day’s activities, go right ahead. It’s your vacation and we’re here to help, not tell you what to do.

Lunch On The Go!

To make things easy for you, our culinary team will prepare a rotating menu of gourmet sandwiches, salads, fruit cups, and cookies every day for you to enjoy while you’re out fishing and exploring the natural beauty that surrounds the lodge. We’ll provide you with a complimentary, water-proof lunch sack that you can use to store your handmade goodies along with all the chips, candy, granola bars, packaged cookies, soda, and energy drinks!

Lunch will be ready to grab and set out by 7:00 AM every morning. As soon as you’re finished with breakfast feel free to pack as much food from the lunch buffet as you’d like. We don’t want anyone to be hangry while having the trip of a lifetime!

Dinner and Dessert

After a long day of fishing, whale watching, kayaking, hiking, and all sorts of exciting activities you’re going to have a pretty big appetite. Once again, our gourmet chef has you covered, and this time with two different dining options! At dinner time we have both a homestyle buffet and a full service dining experience. No matter what you choose, you’ll be treated to something spectacular.

The homestyle buffet is served outside on our scenic patio that overlooks cannery cove. Here you can expect to find home-cooked classics like meatloaf, fajitas, and chicken alfredo. If you’re hoping to spend an evening out on a skiff, this might be the dining option for you. You’re more than welcome to fix a plate and have a quick meal before heading down to the docks. This is also a great option for families with kids who might enjoy something a little more simple.

Our full-service dinner on the other hand is anything but simple. Our chef has carefully created a unique menu for Pybus that offers something for everyone. Each dinner is complete with bread service, a salad, and a rotating menu of appetizers, entrees and desserts with something new to try each night! And no matter what the entree special is, you can always have a few of our lodge classics like our prime rib cheeseburger, and our catch of the day.

Catch of the Day

‍

One of our favorite dishes on the whole menu is the catch of the day! Upon request, the chef will prepare any type of fish you catch while out on the boat. If you’ve caught something that you want to try, just let our dock team know and they’ll filet the fish, clean it, and hand deliver it to the kitchen just moments after you arrive on our dock–it doesn’t get fresher than that!

Dungeness Crab

‍

One of our guests’ favorite treats is our dungeness crab appetizer. On the first day of your trip at Pybus you’ll have the option of going out to drop a crab pot in the waters near our lodge. After letting the pot sit for a few days you can go back out to retrieve the pot and see what you caught! At the end of the day, all the crab is prepared by our culinary team to be the evening's appetizer!

Just keep in mind that no matter how hard we try, we can’t control the amount of crab caught. Sometimes it’s plentiful, and sometimes Alaska leaves you wanting more. No matter what happens you’re sure to make a great memory out on the boat and to have something delicious for dinner.

Alcohol

If you’re looking to enjoy a bottle of wine with your meal, a cocktail in the hot tub, or beer out on the boat, we’ve got you covered. Our gift shop doubles as the island liquor store and is fully stocked with a wide variety of wines, beers, liquors, and cocktail ingredients. Dinner (and even breakfast) are always BYOB and you’re more than welcome to bring anything you’d like to the table. We simply ask that you always drink responsibly while staying with us, as we are in a remote location.

Allergies And Other Dietary Restrictions

Because of the remote nature of our lodge, we’ve ensured that our menu is accommodating to all of our guests, no matter their diet. Whether you’re keto, vegetarian, or gluten free you’ll always have plenty to eat throughout your stay. We’re also more than happy to accommodate any allergies you might have and can easily prepare special meals for you or any one in your party.
